Ingredients

  • Lasagna (Uncooked)1/2 lb.
  • Bulk Italian Sausage1 lb.
  • Ground Beef1/2 lb.
  • Chopped Onion1 Cup
  • Garlic Cloves (Minced)2
  • Tomatoes (Cut Up, Undrained)1 28 oz. Can
  • Tomatoe Paste2 6oz. Cans
  • Sugar (More, If Needed)2 Teaspoons
  • Salt2 Teaspoons
  • Basil1 1/2 Teaspoons
  • Fennel Seed1/2 Teaspoon
  • Black Pepper1/4 Teaspoon
  • Ricotta Cheese1 15 oz. Carton
  • Egg (Beaten)1
  • Parsley Flakes1 Tablespoon
  • Salt1/2 Teaspoon
  • Black Olives (Sliced)1 Cup
  • Mozzarella (Shredded)1 lb.
  • Parmesan Cheese3/4 Cup

Instructions

Cook lasagna according to package directions. Drain. In large skillet, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, and Italian sausage. Drain. Stir in next 7 ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 20 minutes.

In medium bowl blend ricotta, egg, parsley, and salt.

Spoon 1 1/2 cups meat sauce into 13x9x2 pan.

Layer 1/3 each:

Lasagna

Remaining Meat Sauce

Ricotta Mixture

Olives

Mozzarella

Parmesan

Repeat layers.

Cover. Bake in 375 degree oven 25 minutes.

Uncover. Bake until hot - about 20 minutes longer.

Let stand 10 minutes.

Yield: 8 to 10 servings
